CPD is a pioneer in creating a safe environment for the transportation of refrigerated pharmaceuticals, hospital medicines, as well as biological materials.

• CPD, in cooperation with MEDILINE, a supplier of certified insulated temperature-controlled boxes for pharmaceutical transport, safely delivers medicines and other temperature-controlled shipments, even to the most remote islands.
• After five years of research conducted with the National Technical University of Athens, CPD concluded that it is extremely difficult for transport vehicles in Greece to maintain temperatures from -10°C to +4°C throughout the entire journey.
• CPD also found that, especially for transport to and from the islands, this is practically impossible, as trucks are loaded onto ships and shipments are often transported by aircraft. At some stage of the transport process, refrigeration power supply may be interrupted.
• CPD observed that until now temperature monitoring (via data loggers) has typically been carried out inside the vehicle’s refrigerated compartment. However, this measurement has never guaranteed nor accurately represented the actual temperature inside the packaging. The data logger might be located close to the refrigeration unit while the shipment box is placed far from it. In a 13.6-meter truck, the temperature difference between the front and the rear can reach up to 10°C.
